[SCC_Active_Members] Fwd: [CLASSICBOOKS] Classic Computer Science texts - request from Dave Patterson for suggestions

All,

I have read that Google wants to scan in all books from 3 major US
libraries so that they can index them. Perhaps if their program goes
forward, the ACM could offer to scan them, and get some "scanning fee" paid
by Google?

With all such things, there is the issue of copyright. The ACM my get
rights to the top dozen. But they may not have the right to let someone
distribute them to the general public.
