Here is another URL to pass along: the 3rd History of Programming
Languages
announcement. Paul mentions this meeting, which is scheduled
as the third HoPL in its 15-year cycle:
      http://research.ihost.com/hopl/
It is part of FCRC which *might* coincide with ACM's 60th, but this
is the
first mention I have seen of Fortran's 50th. (In fact, FCRC is in
cycle also.)

Of interest to historians of computing is the whole HoPL program
(since PL is so central to computing!?)
Of interest to Fortranners is the paper on the history of HPF therein.

Feel free to pass this URL recommendation along to all your friends and
neighbors. Happy Holidays.

Hope to see you all at FCRC in San Diego.
