Scanner handles 1,000 pages/hour

Want a book scanner that scans up to 1,000 pages an hour?

The BookDrive DIY uses digital cameras that are faster than overhead or
flatbed scanners and captures information from a document in just a blink.
The scanner is made with a V-shaped cradle that holds the book to be
scanned, with Canon digital cameras positioned above to capture images as
the pages are turned.

The scanner system also includes lamps positioned to ensure proper lighting
of the pages as they are scanned.

The BookDrive DIY is available for $3,499 from Atiz Innovation at
www.atiz.com/store.php."

The basic package, without cameras and without a computer/monitor, is $ 3,
499.
With two 8 megapixel Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT cameras and lenses, $
5,699.
The Canon Rebel has a street price of about $ 642; other Canon cameras are
12.8 megapixels at $ 2,790 each, and 16.7 megapixels at $ 6,860 each.
