Thanks John!
SCC members: please be gentle!
LOL!
John has kindly agreed to 'make himself known' as the donor of the
ILLIAC materials noted earlier this week...

Cheers,
Dag.

Subject: ILLIAC I Stuff
Dag, it's OK to mention me.
The stuff I left this time was mainly listings of ILLIAC programs,
but some time ago I donated a bunch of library routine descriptions
(which in ILLIAC days always included the source code).
I'll be happy to answer any questions about any ILLIAC materials
as best I can.
Regards... John

Hi John,
Not sure if you're on our software collections committee list... but
members were wondering if they could find out who donated the recent
ILLIAC materials (you!).
I won't release your name without your permission.
Are you open to people knowing you are the donor? It will likely result
in interesting inquiries and garnering more info on the programs from
you... both of which would make these great items even more useful.
Best wishes,
Dag.

A now-retired colleague who used Illiac I as a student says the
representations of 10-15 in hex were KSNJFL, because that's how they
came out in FIGS mode on a baudot-code teletype. He had two mnemonics
to remember them:
King Size Numbers Just For Laughs
Kind Souls Never Jostle Fat Ladies

Any alleged opinions are my own and have not been approved or
disapproved by JPL, CalTech, NASA, the President, or anybody else.
