Wow!
There sure were a lot of people who showed up for the regular PDP-1 Team
Meeting. Must have been something else going on at the Museum...
...oh, wait! _WE_ were what was going on at the Museum(!). Never mind...
My hat is off to Dag, Kirsten, John, Al, and the entire Museum team that
pulled off the amazing event we all witnessed last night.
It was _really_ clear than an _awful_ amount of good work went into making
everything go so smoothly; when everything "just goes as planned", one must
conclude that the plan was mighty good!
The panel discussion "main event" was the best I've ever seen at CHM. I may
be a little biased(!), but everybody on the panel added so much (with 1's
complement arithmetic...) to painting the whole PDP-1 picture, and why this
machine spawned an ecosystem of, essentially, hyper-progress those many
years ago.
The team members who so enthusiastically gave 10-minute demo after demo,
always projecting that "PDP-1 Spirit", was a sight to behold. I imagined
Ben Gurley watching, and smiling.
I just couldn't be prouder than to be associated with this group of
restoration geeks!
Thanks, all.
-Mike
