I agree!  I think it would be confusing to be seen as either a 
separate organization or an "alliance" that has no peer organizations 
participating.  CHM  should become the umbrella for community participation.

Furthermore, we are trying very hard to brand "computerhistory.org" 
as the place to come for computer history stories and the related 
deep archival material.  It would be counterproductive to start 
promoting a separate URL like softwarepreservation.org.  I suggest 
talking to Bob S. about the Software SIG having its own control of a 
subtree within that URL.
