[SCC_Active_Members] Software Archive Problem Statements?

What about a software archive makes it significantly
different from any other kind of information archive? It seems
to me that the similarities exceed any differences -- especially
when you consider that the archives gathered so far include other
kinds of media and information as well: books, lectures, photos,
screen shots, videos, etc. So perhaps some 'differential analysis'
(how do changed requirements affect changed solution) would be
better than a first principle requirements analysis.

I was on the program committee for the Archiving 2006 & 2007 conference,
and many of the presenters are from the library/museum community.
