Yes, absolutely we should connect those with a need with items not in
our area of interest or capability. For example, when the Museum
recently accepted donation of a collection of APL papers and materials
from a retiring college professor (I think his name was Harley Courtney
;-) we vectored a significant number of conference materials to the ACM
to fill holes in their archives.
Think we've done a pretty good job of building that network. Of course
needs on-going care and feeding... But Al, makes a good point we need to
be aware of this.
