Dear SPG members,

As the Timeline exhibition team approaches the end of a major phase of
the exhibition development process, we would like to share with you
in-progress materials in order to provide you with an update AND solicit
your input. To that end, please find attached papers for the Timeline
exhibition workshop with the SPG scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 28,
5:30-7:30pm, meeting room, Hopper.

These attached materials will form part of an exhibition Prospectus
document that will be completed by December 15, 2007 and circulated to
various Museum groups (including the Trustees, SIGS and volunteers) as
well as to outside content consultants. The Prospectus is intended to be
the content blueprint for the exhibition; a free-standing proposal that
describes the exhibition scheme. It will document and describe the aims,
target visitors, the treatment approach, its rationale, content
sections, detailed list of objects, interpretative techniques, and
indicative layout. It will also go forward to the exhibit designers to
progress to the next stage of realization.

Attachments

1. Spreadsheet (listing sections, icons, scope topics, related object
populations for the exhibition)

2. Sample Icon/Alcove Entries (including Rationale and Key Messages for
each icon/alcove to be included in the exhibition Prospectus document
described above)

3. Massing/Bubble Diagrams options (three diagrams showing
organizational flow of content in the exhibition)

4. Preliminary Interpretive ideas (describing classes of exhibit
techniques/experiences to be included in the exhibition)
