[SPG_Active_Members] SDS Software - Making Progress...

Hi all,

Despite having been AWOL from almost all SCC/SPG meetings this year,
I've been very busy collecting software (and other artifacts) related to
Scientific Data Systems. Over the last year the Museum has acquired
several hundred paper tapes of SDS software from the mid-1960s, along
with maybe 50+ magnetic tapes. These include master tapes from Honeywell
of SDS and Xerox Data Systems (XDS) software.

Bud Warashina and I have started cataloging the Scientific Data Systems
(SDS) software donated to the Museum last Fall with the SDS 910/920
mainframes. We have several hundred paper tapes to go thru, but the
attached shows the results of a couple hours work last Saturday.

Al has read several of the magnetic tapes, images are at
http://bitsavers.org/sigma/20070923. I expect we will have completed
cataloging the paper tapes before the end of the year. Reading is the
next step (maybe in conjunction with cataloging?)

Ping me with questions or comments.

Cheers,

Lee Courtney
