Back in 1999, John Redant wrote a college term paper called "Downfall
and Contributions of the Xerox Star" containing a "bushy tree diagram"
that updated and expanded a diagram originally appearing in a 1989 IEEE
Computer paper, ``The Xerox `Star': A Retrospective'' by Jeff Johnson et
al. (see http://www.digibarn.com/friends/curbow/star/retrospect/ or
http://doi.ieeecomputersociety.org/10.1109/2.35211). An updated version
of Redant's paper appears here: http://xeroxstar.tripod.com/ .

Now Redant has started a new web site dedicated to expanding this
diagram to many more systems, with descriptions of each system,
cross-referenced and linked to external references. He's just getting
started, and says:

My mission for the Wikia is to create a collaborative online
encyclopedia about the evolution of the human computer interface,
the people and developers involved, and the terms that are used.
It's over a month old and a lot of what's on there is mostly stubs.
Naturally, it's a lot for one person to tackle alone. I'm looking
for collaborators, authors and editors to help hammer it into shape.
