<P><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Arial">As a base for creating a SNOBOL library pilot accessible to contributors, I have decided to use the Greenstone DL (</FONT><A HREF="http://www.greenstone.org/cgi-bin/library"><U><FONT COLOR="#0000FF" SIZE=2 FACE="Arial">http://www.greenstone.org/cgi-bin/library</FONT></U></A><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Arial">) running in an Ubuntu Linux platform. </FONT></P>
<P><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Arial">A challenge with this is that I am a Linux newbie, and am having difficulties with many critical functions, e.g., installing programs as specified in their documentation and the textbook (Keir Thomas,<I> Beginning Ubuntu Linux,</I> 2006. ISBN 1-59059-627-7). (For instance, a current problem is consistent "command not found" in shell windows that I believe are set to the correct directory, etc.)</FONT></P>
<P><FONT SIZE=2 FACE="Arial">I would appreciate a CHM volunteer to help me with the learning curve, doing so via e-mail. I propose to send screenshots and problem descriptions. With luck, this will be a short-term exercise.</FONT></P>
