Hi all,

Just a quick note that I've uploaded a significant
amount of APL material to the Software Preservation
Group's web site. See the 'Papers' and 'Books' section
at http://www.softwarepreservation.org/projects/apl

I've selected and uploaded about 10 papers (in
addition to a couple Paul McJones had already posted),
and 16 texts (some from Bitsavers) that trace the
origins of APL starting Iverson's 1962 "A Programming
Language".

Am also in process of obtaining republication rights
to Gilman & Rose's "APL\360 An Interactive Approach",
Iverson's "A Source Book in APL", and Rose et al's
"APL In Practice". Have republication permission for
Ramsey's "APL-STAT", but awaiting arrival of a
scanning copy before posting.

I'm particularly excited about having "Management
Applications in APL" and "APL-STAT" posted as they are
exemplars of mainframe APL application programming,
with complete source code listings.

Christian and I have several goals with the APL
section: 1) create a repository of papers and text
showing the evolution of APL, and 2) document the
breadth of APL implementations on different vendors
systems, and 3) gather information on APL
applications, especially in non-technical areas such
as business and social sciences.

When you have a chance please take a look - comments,
questions, and suggestions welcome and appreciated.
I'm interested in considered additions to the texts
posted that meet the above three goals. For each
document posted I have OCR'd the file to allow
searching, and added PDF meta-data. Would be nice to
get feedback on the usefulness of the meta-data.

Next step is source code, both APL implementations and
applications.

Many thanks to Paul McJones and Mike Powell for their
help with scanning and posting advice.

Cheers,

Lee Courtney
